Sri Mulyani's Biography Sri Mulyani Indrawati is an influential woman in the economic field in Indonesia. Sri Mulyani was born in Tanjungkarang, Lampung, August 26, 1962. She has served as Head of the Institute for Economic and Community Research, Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia (LPEM FEUI) since June 1998. She was then trusted by President SBY to serve as State Minister for National Development Planning or Head of Bappenas. On December 5, 2005 when President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono announced a cabinet reshuffle, Sri Mulyani was transferred to become Minister of Finance replacing Jusuf Anwar. Prior to being appointed as Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas for the United Indonesia Cabinet, Sri Mulyani moved to Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America, as a consultant at USAid since August 2001 in the context of cooperation to strengthen local institutions.
